Use the courses here to teach yourself to write better using correct grammar, punctuation, word choice, spelling, and vocabulary. For best results, study the course three times. Then review the site at anytime as a reference. Teaching Yourself Grammar The first time through the courses, you will introduce yourself to the material. The second time you will discover how to teach yourself English grammar. The third time, you will learn to write and speak well. Keep in mind that it normally takes years of schooling to become highly proficient at reading, writing, and speaking English. To become a good writer, it takes much additional experience and practice. So take your time, review, restudy, and practice what you learn. For
best results, concentrate on learning the structure of the English
language over a period of time. Learn the structure by studying the
same material over and over. After you learn the structure,
concentrate on using your knowledge to improve your writing skills. Teaching Others Grammar To get started, introduce the first lesson to the complete class, small group, or an individual student. Then have the students study the first lesson and prepare for the test. Students should review the lessons on their own while studying for the test. When the teacher is satisfied with the review results from the exercises, students may be tested. Teachers should test the students using their own standards and requirements. Note: When introducing this course for the first time, teachers may use an open-book type pretest and allow the students to look over the lessons to find the answers. The teacher can teach and discuss the lessons after the pretest. After the lecture, students can study for the real test. Different students can be taught with different goals in mind. The primary goal for elementary school students may be to learn penmanship and handwriting skills. The primary goal for high school students may be to prepare for a college entrance exam or to learn to write essays using correct grammar. Teachers may use their discretion in grading at all learning levels. College students may be given lessons as a study assignment then tested at the next class meeting. |
